Moon Factoids

Shakespearean Moons
All of the moons of the solar system are named
after mythological gods of
the Greek and Romans. That is, except for Uranus.
Its moons are named after
characters in Shakespeare. Their names are:

- Cordelia, of King Lear
- Ophelia, of Hamlet
- Bianca, of Taming of the Shrew
- Cressida, of Troil and Cressida
- Desdemona, of Othello
- Juliet, of Romeo and Juliet
- Portia, of the Merchant of Venice
- Rosalind, of As You Like It
- Belinda, of The Rape of the Lock
- Puck, of A Midsummer-Night's Dream
- Miranda, of The Tempest
- Ariel, of The Tempest
- Umbriel, of The Rape of the Lock
- Titania, of A Midsummer Night's Dream
- Oberon, of A Midsummer Night's Dream
- Caliban, of The Tempest
- Sycorax, of The Tempest
- Prospero, of The Tempest
- Setebos, of The Tempest
- Stephano, of The Tempest

There is another moon, but it has not been
officially named and sits with
the title of 1986 U 10. Not very dramatic.
